Mini Give-Away

Hey all!

I bet you've noticed I haven't been blogging a lot lately, and the reason is that my mom has my camera at the moment and I usually blog about things that need pics (like NOTD's, swatches, reviews, think I baked/cooked, hauls, etc.) so that's not possible at the moment.

TwilightBeauty

I recently stumbled on the website TwilightBeauty.

It is a brand that sells a lot of make-up that's based on the Twilight books and movies.

As you know, I'm a big Twilight fan, so I couldn't wait to check it out.

I found that they have 3 make-up collections:

-Luna Twilight : this one is based on the Cullens and Bella (in other words: the good guys), there is also a makeup palette that's based on Victoria though.

-Volturi Twilight: this collection is based on the Volturi and has both some brighter and darker colours in it than Luna Twilight.

-NOX Twilight: this collection consists of 12 colours of nail polish.

Luna Twilight and Volturi Twilight both have mascara's, lip glosses and eye shadows.

The rest of the products is different in each collection.

There are also some special products like a lip stain (that was actually even used in Twilight New Moon), shimmer and glow products for the body and face and even body mists with different coloured shimmer and different scents.

I really like the look of this make-up.

The colours are great and so is the packaging.

2 month anniversary cake :D

Last sunday, my boyfriend and I had our 2 month anniversary *cheers*!

It doesn't seem like a long time, but I've never been in such a good relationship, so we thought it was a good reason to bake a cake (especially since our relationship started with baking muffins).

I know it's ugly, but I don't have a proper cake mold or something like that, so this will have to make do.

As you can see, my boyfriend and I like the colour orange (the muffins were orange too ;) ).

Recipe:

Ingredients for the cake itself:

-175g butter (I used a dairy free one), softened or melted

-175 powder sugar (I'm sure it has a different name in English, I just can't recall it)

-3 eggs, beaten

-175g flour

-1,5 or 2 tea spoons of baking powder

-a bit of liquid (I used orange flavoured lemonade siroup)

-a few tea spoons of cinnamon

-a bit of vanilla extract

-2 table spoons of coconut

-2 table spoons of broken line seed (because it's healthy)

-a few handfulls of chopped walnuts

How to make it:

Put the butter and the sugar in a bowl, and mix it with a mixer until you get a light and foamy mass. Add the beaten egg, little by little, while mixing it. Sift the flower and add it bit by bit while mixing.

Then add the liquid and mix again until you get a mass without clumps.

Then add the rest of the ingredients: baking powder, cinnamon, vanilla extract, coconut, line seed and the chopped walnuts.

Mix again and then the mixture is ready.

Put it in the mold, make the top even and push a bit in the middle.

Then bake for 55 minutes at 170 degrees Celsius in a pre-heated oven.

Let the cake cool in the mold for a few minutes, then turn it upside-down and put it on roster to cool down (but still IN the mold to keep it moist).

The rest of the ingredients:

-1 package of whipped soy cream

-1 tin of mandarin parts

-fondant glazing (the kind that turns into a liquid when heated)

-orange food colouring.

Whip the whipped soy cream until it's the right consistency.

Saw the top of the cake of, and open the tin of mandarin parts.

Put the mandarin parts on the cake and the whipped soy cream on top of that.

Then put the top of the cake back on the cake.

Heat the glazing in the microwave until it melts, then add the food colouring and stir.

Heat it again and pour it over the cake.

Cool the cake in the fridge for 2 hours and it's ready to eat!!!

Sorry for the bad translating, but the cake really does taste good ;).

Something Smelly: Ming Shu by Yves Rocher

I bought my first bottle of Ming Shu when I was still a teenager (maybe 14 or something) and I have loved this perfume ever since. Since then I always need to have at least 1 bottle in my stash. I usually buy the Eau de Perfume, since that one has the strongest scent, but the Eau de Toilette smells nice as well.

Scent description from the Yves Rocher website:

Discover the bluish reflections of the fleur de l'Aube Eau de perfume, in this bottle with harmonious lines. It's marina fragrance opens the composition with a transparent breeze with aquatic overtones. The Ming Shu flower combines with the sun filled ylang ylang to create a floral harmony. Finally, gentle and mysterious vanilla, melts onto a bed of sandalwood for a caressing and delicate fragrance.

*I difinitely smell the aquatic notes mixed with a soft floral, and a bit of sweetness.

It's a bit of a transparant and ethereal kind of smell, but it's not too weak.

Ming Shu is strong enough so you can smell it very well, but it isn't so strong that it bothers you.

It's a scent that's kind to your nose; you can wear it on days that you don't want to smell too strong, but still want to smell nice.

I also love to wear this on hot, sticky days, because of the aquatic notes and the freshness of the scent.

Mins Shu makes me think of ghosts, brides, fairy's and fairy tales.

It's just a bit magical, and I've never smelled anything like it.

To me, it's a complicated scent, in which you can't identify all the different notes, but the whole scent combines and smells wonderful. I think the shape of the bottle is beautiful. It's a bit asian and classic and the blue colour is tranquill. There's also a kind of flower engraving on the bottom of the bottle. I think it's very special.*
