Gorilla Perfume Sample Set

A few days ago this Perfume Sample Set by Gorilla Perfumes appeared on the Lush UK website:

Being the perfume addict that I am (and I'm especially addicted to Lush perfumes!), I couldn't resist this and had to have it!
Luckily, a sweet Lushie at the Dutch forum let me join her group order, so in a week or 2 I will be the proud owner of the Gorilla Perfume Sampler Set :D !

What's in it:
7 samples of the following scents:

*Imogen Rose
*The Smell Of Freedom
*Lust
*Orange Blossom
*Vanillary
*Tuca Tuca
*Karma

Imogen Rose:

An exquisite rose perfume with dry vetivert notes and a powdery amber accord.

The Smell Of Freedom:

Opens with a fresh, herbal accord and reveals it's spicy and woody nature as it warms on your skin.

Lust:

Carnal and sexy jasmine with an indolic character, floral notes and a soft, woody base.

Orange Blossom:

Fresh orange blossom and neroli perfume that smells like a distilled Mediterranean moment.

Vanillary:

The sweet and sensual vanilla perfume with floral and smoky notes.

Tuca Tuca:

Feminine and flirty violet perfume to evoke memories of that first intoxication crush.

Karma:

The trippy signature Lush scent of pine, patchouli and orange.

Price: £7,00.

*Since I already own a big bottle of Vanillary and a small bottle of Karma, I know I like those scents. The rest of the scents I'm really curious about. I can't really imagine what they would smell like, but they must be good since Mark and Simon Constantine made them (and they're good!)!*

Have you ordered the sample set (or will you soon), or is Lush perfume not really your thing?

Until next time,

Freya

New Lush Gifts

Lush also released 3 new gifts.

Blooming Beautiful

What's in it"
*Pop In The Bath Bubble Bar
*Think Pink Bath Ballistic

Price: £6,95.

*It seems to be a nice bath-time teamed gift, suitable for most people.
The Think Pink is rather sweet, but Pop in The Bath isn't, so this gift is pretty balanced, I think. The packaging is very flowery an cheerful.*

Strawberry Picnic

What's in it:
*Grass Shower Gel (100ml)
*Strawberry Feels Forever Massage Bar
*Sugar Babe Sugar Scrub
*Summer Pudding Soap (100g)

Price: £14,95.

*The feel that this gift gives is red and green, the colour of strawberries :D. I think Grass shower gel will probably match well with the sweet scents of Strawberry Feels Forever and Summer Pudding, it will even out the sweetness. The packaging reminds me of having a picknick.*

Out Of This World

What's in it:
*A starshaped Rockstar Soap (100g)
*Space Girl Ballistic

Price: £5,75.

*Of the new gifts, I like this one best. I love Rockstar Soap and Space Girl Ballistic and the space-themed packaging is to die for. This is the gift I am most likely to buy, and would also love to receive.*

Do you like the new gifts, or do you think they're meh?

Until next time,

Freya

My Mom's Art Part 1

My mom is an artist.
However she can't make a lot of art because she's disabled (physically, not mentally ;) ).
I really like the things she makes and appreciate the amount of effort she has to put into making her art.

Anyway, here's the first blog about my mom's art.
More blogs will follow!

This time I'll show you some art that was inspired by aboriginals (I think).

Project 50 Pan

Around april or so this year, I read about a project called "Project 10 Pan" on a review website (BeautyReview).
Everyone that joins this project will try to use up 10 products (make-up and other cosmetics) and they won't buy any new cosmetics, until they've used up 10 of those products.
Some make a list of what they want to use up and use that up, or some just start using thing and use things up randomly.
You are supposed to photograph every empty product and post it as well.

When I read about Project 10 Pan, I thought it was a great idea.
I have lots of cosmetics, and a project like this will help me focus on what I have and on what products are near it's expiration date and need to be used up first.

However, I don't like to impose a buying ban on myself.
If I want something and I can actually afford it, I'll buy it, and I don't want to feel guilty about it because I have a buying ban.
Therefore, I haven't given myself a buying ban/

Here's how I do the Project 10 Pan:

I keep a list of what I've used up.
I only count whole products as 1 number on the list
Samples and partial products I list too, but they won't count towards the 10 products.
I also don't take pictures of the finished products, since I tend to forget about it and bin them before I remember I have to take a picture of them.

I've joined this products around april, so I've used up a lot of products already.
That's why I'm not doing Project 10 Pan, but Project 50 Pan.
When I've used up 50 products, I will go on with Project 60 Pan, and so on.

Again, I've used up some products (sometimes things are gone so fast!).

Swatch: Flashing Yellow Nail Polish (Max)

Yesterday I swatched this neon nail polish by Max.

With Flash:

Without Flash:

It's called Flashing Yellow and I bought it in a set of 6 nail polishes for €1,39 at the Action.

Flashing Yellow is a weird lemon yellow shimmer that is very streaky and has very bad coverage.
I applied 2 layers of Flashing Yellow, with a base coat underneath and a top coat over it (both Catrice) and the coverage was bad.
The colour does not suit me (though it turned out to be less ugly than expected) and makes me feel gross.

*I give Flashing Yellow only 2 stars, because it's streaky hell, it has bad coverage and the colour is weird.*

What do you think of this nail polish?
Would you wear it or bin it?

Until next time,

Freya

NOTD: Bright F*cking Orange

This was yesterday's NOTD.

With Flash:

Without Flash:

What I used for this NOTD, is a base coat (Catrice) 2 layers of orange neon nailpolish and a top coat (also catrice).

The orange neon nail polish is Smashing Orange (Max).
I bought it in a set of 6 neon nail polishes at the Action for €1,39.

I really like this NOTD.
Orange is one of my favourite colours, and this one is very shimmery and catches the light in sunset kind of way.
I never expected to like this polish, since I thought it would be hell to apply, but I actually is easy to apply.
It just glides on easily, but you have to hurry a bit so it won't dry while you're applying it.
I applied 2 coats, but at some places it's a bit uneven and could have used a 3rd coat.
I usually apply apply 3 coats of an average polish, but I was in a hurry so I applied only 2.

*Overall, I like this nail polish, and I give it 4 stars, because it dries a bit quickly (though not unbearably quickly).*

Would you wear orange, or do you think it's only a suitable colour to wear when the Dutch soccer team is playing?

Until next time,

Freya
